  • FVRCP (non-adjuvented):

    • FVR- Feline Viral Rhinotracheitic (Caused by a Herpesvirus)

    • C- Feline Calicivirus

    • P- Feline panleukopenia

  • Rabies (non- adjuvented)

Non-Core Vaccines

  • FeLV (non-adjuvented): Feline leukemia virus

 Terms

Non-adjuvented- these vaccines use carriers other than proteins to deliver the vaccines. This produces less of an inflammatory response locally decreasing the likelihood of fibrosarcoma developments (does not completely eliminate possibility)

Canine- As recommended by AAHA

Core Vaccines

  • DHPP- Distemper, Hepatitis, Parainfluenza, Parvovirus

  • Rabies

Non-Core Vaccines

  • Leptospirosis (can be combined with DHPP or given as a standalone injection)

  • Bordetella

  • Lyme

What to expect after your pet’s vaccination:

It is fairly common for your pet to experience some or all of the following mild side effects- usually starting within hours of vaccination and typically lasting no longer than a few days. If these side effects are severe or last more than a few days, please contact us.

  • Discomfort and local swelling at the injection site

  • Mild fever

  • Diminished appetite and activity

  • Sneezing

A small, firm swelling under the skin may develop at the site of a recent vaccination and should disappear in a couple of weeks. If it persists for more than three months or grows in size please contact us. More serious but rare side effects, such as allergic reaction may occur minutes or hours after a vaccination. Signs include vomiting, diarrhea, itchy skin/ hives, facial swelling, and difficulty breathing. These allergic reactions can be life threatening and are medical emergencies.
